SERVICES

MEALS
Lunch served 11:30 am, Monday through Friday, at the nutrition center. 

We have a recommended contribution for persons 60 and older. There is a guest fee for persons under 60.

Home-Delivered Meals are available to eligible participants in the immediate Buckhannon area.

SENIOR SUPPORT SERVICES
There is assistance with public benefit programs. Also, assistance with insurance claims and Medicare benefit forms. See the More Services page by clicking on the link above.

SOCIAL SERVICES
Health related services (blood pressure clinics, etc.), Information and Referral.

IN HOME/PERSONAL COMMUNITY CARE
Provide personal care, food preparation and light housekeeping to at-risk frail, elderly to enable them to remain in their homes as for long as possible. Medicaid covers the fees for eligible participants.

Respite, Veterans assistance, F.A.I.R., Lighthouse Programs are offered as well.

Non-Medicaid clients pay a fee based on a sliding scale according to income and availability of services.

VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are welcome to assist with services, such as craft classes, telephone reassurance, educational programs and in the dining room.

INSURANCE ASSISTANCE
We have two SHIP (state health insurance program) counselors. They provide free help with obtaining health and prescription plans for Medicare recipients. They also screen for prescription plan premium extra help and low income help from DHHR and Social Security. They can also find other sources for prescription help. Call 304-472-0528 for an appointment.

EQUIPMENT RENTAL
Durable medical equipment such as walkers, wheelchairs, canes, potty-chairs, etc., are available on a rental or loan basis.​

OTHER SERVICES

Teach classes in computer literacy and digital photography.
Classes in painting, exercise, yoga and line dancing.
Activities room for pool, checkers, board games, puzzles, exercise equipment, large screen TV, computer access, etc.
Bridge club meets in Blue Room.

 
Provide space for Senator's and Legislator's staffs to assist our clients.
Distribute Farmers' Market Coupons to lower income seniors.
Homemaker Agency for the Title XIX Medicaid Waiver Program.

A Notary Public is available for seniors. Please call to make an appointment.
