Senior Center History
We are a private non-profit corporation since 1972. The Upshur County Senior Citizens Opportunity Center, Inc., is funded by the WV Bureau of Senior Services, WV Department of Health And Human Resources, United Way and by private donations.
SERVICES:
MEMBERSHIP
Age 60 and Older and Spouses (regardless of age). No Fee.
MEALS
Lunch served 11:30 am, Monday through Friday, at the Upshur County Senior Citizens Center, Inc.,
1 Senior Drive, Buckhannon, WV.
We have a recommended contribution for persons 60 and older. There is a $3.50 guest fee for persons under 60.
Home-Delivered Meals are available to eligible participants in the immediate Buckhannon area. We have expanded our service to the Southern Upshur area as well by delivering meals to Rock Cave.
SENIOR SUPPORT SERVICES
There is assistance with public benefit programs. Also, assistance with banking, insurance claims and Medicare benefit forms, living wills and medical powers of attorney. We have two notary publics on staff.
